KLE stood for a year outside under a cover. Battery still showed some life so charged it an amazingly it still is ok even though it looks fecked. Oil and filter and it started after a few goes Just cleaning all the rust of the discs and freeing and cleaning the calipers, going to drop the wheels off and check the hubs as the speedo drive on the front hub has a generic fault that loses grease, seizes and shears the outer part of the hub off.
Other than a bit spluttery probably due to stale fuel it runs a treat. Will be putting it back together and MOTing it and if it runs okay do some renovating on it later. Nothing fancy as might hit the dirt sometime but keeping it to easy stuff.

Ha ha. Well no. The KLE is far too heavy for some serious laning and hasn't got proper offroad tyres. Will send it up a few lesser challenging ones in time.

Back together and running sweet. Booked for MOT on friday afternoon. Had to replace rear indicators for some rubbery KTM ones I had kicking about as one fell off lol. Just insurance to sort and tax when it passes and back on the road.

Camping weekend should be on, got a few things coming up on the 12th as it is Glas-denbury weekend and the following weekend is Ipple tipple.
I am hoping the KLE doesn't smoke or use oil, the barrels I rehoned as there was slight corrosion damage and one compression was low. Seemed okay and compression back up, but needs a proper run to establish whether it is really okay.

Course he is. We can have a hog roast on them big ol' pipes. Of course the ultra quiet KLE will be in the presence of big loud monsters. I baggsy in first to the site before you turn up with the two noise generators

I forgot how good it looked. It just needs the swinging arm painting and the chain adjusters de-rusting and it's sorted. Nice work. Bet it's a great comuting bike !
Swingarm needs a full refurb, quite grotty at the other end but the frame is not bad just needs touching in. Pumped the air assist on the front and that sat it up more. Only quick run up to circa 70-80 but seems good and smooth for a twin. No advisories although the top yoke nut was not fully tight, going to have a looksee soon, did notice a slight rattle from the folk yokes and just thought it might be steering head bearing.
Not going to tart it too much, quite fancy a dirt road challenge in Spain later in the year. It is what it is a (relatively) lightweight adventure bike. Wouldn't want to try tackling Tally Ho though.
