seems my rear brake light swith has failed leaving light permanently on. I think that's a third one in as many years. It's disconnected for now and the front brake light is working fine. Is the rear brake light not wprking an MoT fail? what if I remove the switch? Anyone know a good switch to replace.
Its a fail on the MOT, has to work of both controls. Maybe try and seek out a different make of switch. Is it a brake pressure switch rather than a mechanical type?

Have you just changed the brake pads and not checked the fluid level?
it takes bugger all pressure to activate the switch.
Pull the cap off the master cylinder and see if it the light's still on. The BMW has the same switch and has never failed but the brake light would stay on after some serious heavy and constant braking on alps roads, I guess due to fluid expansion.
The ones marked private are indeed private which is nearly all of them, approval has to be granted once registered, ones marked members only require you to register and join, the ones marked public are not private and can be viewed by anyone.
The clue is in the bit where it says "public" forum.
Also the warning on the sticky post at the top that says public!
Its quite simple, log out and see what you can read and post on. To have everything private and approved only is OTT, its been like it for a few years now.
Thinking and knowing are two different things. People with nut allergies should read the labels more so.

Btw after a certain time you cannot change or delete a post. Got fed up with people chopping and changing and deleting their posts so nothing made any sense plus wiping out entire threads. It got out of hand so it was quashed.

I like nuts I thought the whole fOrem private unless it was other nuts
So you have to log out to see what's Private n what's Public? That's a bit of a trial...innit? ....remembering usernames, passwords what nonsense you last wrote..
The forums main menu page shows which ones are public, which ones are members only and which ones are public. Hence the hint read the label.
Simples.
You have to have newbies as public as they would be unable to post and introduce themselves, Bike shed is there so others may post without registering or being approved. Problem is people use it for so long they have to be reminded that it is public.
Under the radar and everything else is pretty much nailed down, been like that for sometime.
