Bought a Yamaha TY 50 P for godchild

The bike looks clean (lovely Yamaha red block version) but difficult to start n revs super high when it does, if it fires just seems to go to max revs ...on the ther other hand don't particularly like the God child (wimpish) .  so beSt just let it Rev its tits off n suggest he selects firSt gear n fek him. 

suggestions welcomed beyond turning the carb slider by one hundred n eighty degrees....

Blimey P that's a rare machine, a girl friend of mine had one when we 16. Does it have front end damage and bits of dog wrapped around the wheel?

Forget beans, leaks is the issue, air leaks that is. Assuming you've checked the throttle cables and carb slide are moving.

I'd like to see it so will pop over when in T'quay next.

My mate and budding psychopath Simon Isles had one when we wuz 16.  It would almost do 29mph, which meant I could smoke him on my 32mph Gilera 50 E-type Trail.

Has it got pedals?

I started off my top line trials career on its' bigger 175cc version on the rough ground at the old Whitchurch Airfield site.

I remember that whitchurch airfield me and Chris turner got chased by a portly parkie there, he was on xl 185 we were on my dads suzuki B120 we hid the bike and scrambled over the 6 foot fence turner slipped at the top flipped over and got his leather jacket fully snagged, he was hanging there like a bat calling "Roachie help you bstard" I left him hanging there, my how I chuckled.x
