Bad news indeed Tim. What happened did the armour pinch n spilt the skin? Maybe a better fit is needed. Is it all adjustable so you can tighten up against joints By the way didn't notice any blood yesterday prior to seven stitches why is that? I've seen that Alien Filum you know.
I did some review searching before buying my armour (never used any before) but a lot of people saying cheap ones are baddd. Winstanleys have good price on 661 stuff, cant believe how many different types of armour there are!. I havwnt come off with it on yet but gives 50% more balls.. And that's the reason for body armour lol
I wear a compression top thingy under the body armour to reduce chafing. It seems to weld nicely to the flesh and blood only issues forth once the top is peeled of at the end of the ride, taking the skin with it.
Yes, maybe a tighter fit armour is the way to go. Presumably armour embedded in a jacket doesn't give this problem?
The nursey who stitched me up said "It could have been worse, at least you weren't sitting on the couch", which I took to mean trail ride prevents death by stagnation.
I don't rate armour embedded in jacket unless used as additional protection over a close fitting body armour. Presumably you'd have a shattered elbow without the body armour but that's limited compensation for five hours on a Saturday in Torbay A&E. Superglue is great for fixing gaping wounds that's why it was originally developed. Hope Tis soon better. Top tip from Dr is to remove any foreign objects and clean wound with chlorahexadrine before gluing skin together.
Tim, A snug fit with armour that's the ticket. Mind if you get your blue machines dodgy back end sorted that will likely eradicate the need for body armour as a trail riding God of your skills would not fall off at all given a good suspension. Hope a warm feeling up your back eases the elbow pain....
Haveing tried the crap mesh type armour that didn't fit correctly I now have the forcefeild pro stuff ( original designed for the Olympic snow board teams) and I can't aggre more with Pete! If it fits correctly and dosn't move you'll be much better off when the departure from the machine happens.
FYI the forcefeild stuff is part of a compression top so the pads are fixed in the correct place at all times and move with the body part. Troy lee designs now make the same style stuff at a lower price but the pads can't be removed so no washing 😥...
Repair soon Tim and then get to the TRF day on Sunday
Snug fit my arse, dont listen to this twonk kid go large or go home I wear a triple XL no fear top which weighsa f'uckin ton and im still here, just a little stiff now n again, plus remember F in his mock turtle outfit with just his wee swede poking out the top I witnessed him go straight under postman Pats van n appear the other side totally unscatehed and grinning like a born again.x
Ah yes the tortoise in a half shell. EVS ballistic body armour. Did a full superman over the handlebars on black ice onto tarmac, hurt my thumb but didn't feel a thing any where else even though I landed full square on my shoulder. As for not wearing any...hmm... recall a nice photo of someone with a branch sticking out of their arm where it had gone straight in, if you have armour it may not prevent that but the thought of being skewered in the body should be enough to make you at least think about it. I seemed to also remember TJ saying he didn't wear knee guards as it was uncomfortable, an hour later and his sudden departure into a field through barb wire and nettles and branches and landing full on one knee, well he had a radical rethink on that. For someone who crashed somewhat spectacular at times he got away with it most times but tbh not wearing some protection is risky.

Ah yes at the last sex championships was it before Poland became hosts? If I recall protection correctly, 'twas a plank strapped across buttocks to make you we're not lost forever up a cavernous wanna be champion who'd already had 5.5km of **** up her that day?
Very wise Ray. Any protection on a dirt bike beyond obligatory crash hat?
Hardy har har I feckin love that photo that's when Mingster nicknamed him George the tortoise from blue peter,
he wanted to write it on his back in emulssion so he's easy to find in the undergrowth.x

Get some cider down your neck bey. All this fancy talk bout spirit broken soon restored by a good dose of alcohol, some bad behaviour, morning regrets and a nasty toilet experience followed by being in the doghouse for hours. You'll soon yearn for the lanes again.

P, began swilling cider at 17:45. No food since 10:30. You may have a point.
