For those of you without access to the DTRF forum it seems the notorious Lane of Pain that leads up to the radio mast at Halwell (and is avoided at all costs) has been levelled.
This sort of intervention is usually unwelcome, but in this case I say "hallefarkinlujah".
The only proper single rut lane in the area, always a challenge and always fun. Can't say that I'm happy about it considering it was discussed at a Bovey meeting where it was 50/50 to sort out or not.
Don't ever let me hear you complain about "improving" any other challenging lane.
Later last year the lane was so overgrown it sort of pointed to a lack of use due to its heavily rutted surface so I guess with the majority of riders giving it a wide berth then maybe flattening it was probably the right decision? That said some challenging lanes have been rendered quite tame by over use of grading.

Yes bastard bad news that it has gone as was a cracker to lead people down especially those folk you never wanted to see again. Better that it was there as an oh **** for regular folk and a surprise for newbies bit like that nasty rocky bastard when wet near Littlehempston - Dan C knows Tim loves it!
