I noticed out the other week and yesterday that bikers do take a variety of lines when approaching a bend. Now most experienced riders and advanced riders do tend to take quite a wide line so in the case of a left hander they move out to the line and then take an arch not necessary clipping the apex but a smooth line that can see you quite wide on the exit.
I ride different lines depending on speed and road conditions but most of the time I keep away from the white line on left handers as too often some dickhead is topping the suspension out in his Saxo or some wayward tart in her MPV/4x4 and crosses the line coming the other way. I know you see them earlier but your options are more limited as you are already "out there".
We all adjust depending on the road and layout. One particular instance today approaching Haytor from Widecombe, there is the right hander through the dip and then the left hander over the blind brow which usually see's somebody crossing, turning, feeding a horse or cow in the road not to mention sheep. I swung in tight left and slowed to about 20mph only to be confronted by a feckwit in a beat up old Mondeo overtaking a moving car completely on my side of the road. I could stop but as he was doing about 35 to 40 he had no chance and nor did I had I front ended him/her. My first instinct was to turn around and follow him/her and basically kill him with a blunt rusty spoon.
All of us probably would have done the same thing and slowed and pulled in as we know how many pillocks are around there, but that just showed a complete disregard for anyone else on the road. Managed to get a two finger salute off and had virtually slowed to 5 mph but they were doing quite a speed overtaking the moving car.
Makes you think. Be careful out there buddies.

True enough FB you never know what's round the next bend, Ramone nearly died on Saturday when a woman went straight on at a crossroads where it was the little Kwackers right of way he said "she missed me by 9 inches"
tho as he held his hands out to show us how close it was it looked more like 5 and a half to me.
also bit of karma pay back co's on the previous ride he rammed a granny into a stinger filled hedge then ran over her feet
if she hadn't been wearing her fur lined side zipped ankle length booties it could've been nasty.x
